Abstract

Introduction : Cutaneous warts are caused by human papillomavirus infection(HPV). Chronic immunosuppression for various reasons is one of the risk factors of human papillomavirus infection. Treatment varies from topical salicylic acid to cryotherapy, duct tape covering and surgical resection, and prognosis depends on infection site and patient’s condition. We report a case of multiple cutaneous warts in nephrotic syndrome patient with immunosuppressive state with a brief review of associated literatures. Case : A 10-year-old boy presented with generalized edema and proteinuria. He was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome at another hospital 30 months ago and has been received immunosuppressive treatment, including steroids. About a year ago, multiple cutaneous warts appeared around his fingernails and toenails. There were multiple small, rough, skin-colored warts on hands and feet in physical examination. Recently, lesions also appeared around the mouth. He is currently undergoing cryotherapy for warts while immunosuppressive therapy for the treatment of nephrotic syndrome. Conclusion : We report a case of multiple cutaneous warts in nephrotic syndrome patient with immunosuppressive state
